Gary Saylor
Watercolors by Gary Saylor
Born and raised in Page County, Virginia, the artist is best known for capturing the rustic beauty and rolling landscape of the Shenandoah Valley.
The artist's realistic style, combined with his eye for composition and mood, gives each of his works a distinct personality.
An art lover his entire life, Gary began painting in 1986 after entering a watercolor class taught by valley resident and artist Ann Ryder. The unique quality and challenge of watercolor was exactly what the aspiring artist needed. A year later, he found himself busy with commissions for such clients such as Pioneer Bank and numerous private collectors.
The artist's first limited-edition print, "Fort Stover," was released in October of 1989. Selling out quickly helped establish him firmly in the print business and made this first print quite a collectors item and remains one of his most sought after prints. "Bunker Hill Mill" was released in September of 1999 and is the ninth print to be published by the artist.
Gary has established high quality standards for his prints and is involved in every step for reproducing his work. Each print is approved, signed and numbered by the artist, assuring a quality work to be treasured by the collector.
These prints may be purchased through Mossy Creek Trail and at various shops and galleries throughout the Shenandoah Valley.
